True Lacrosse is excited to announce it has partnered with the Union County Rattlesnakes to form True Charlotte. This newest True Lacrosse program will serve the Charlotte Metro and Union County areas. Leading the program will be John Miles, founder and director of the UC Rattlesnakes.
John Miles is a teacher at Marvin Ridge Middle School and in his 7th year coaching a Marvin Ridge Lacrosse team. He has over 15 years of coaching experience, and most recently helped the Marvin Ridge junior varsity team to its first undefeated season since 2012. He also served as an assistant coach on the state championship varsity lacrosse team. His passion for lacrosse lead him to form the UC Rattlesnakes Program to help reach even more players and grow the game in the Charlotte area.
True North Carolina Director RJ Ancona is eager and excited to help grow the game in Charlotte and its surrounding areas and is confident in John Miles’ ability to successfully lead the new True Charlotte program.
"The Charlotte area is primed for growth in the sport of lacrosse,” said Ancona. “We are excited to partner with the UC Rattlesnakes to create True Charlotte. The Rattlesnakes have created a great foundation by teaching the game the right way. Through our training and infrastructure, True Lacrosse will look to build on what they have started and give players even more opportunities to train, compete, and grow. With support from a national brand, we look forward to adding value and providing great coaching. True Charlotte will have great leadership in place and should be on its way to a great start this fall."
True Charlotte will kick off with its first ever travel team tryouts on July 29th with an alternate date of August 15th. See below for details or visit our website to register. Boys in grad years 2022-2032 are invited to tryout.
